I often get asked why my logo - and a lot of my art - feature moths.

Engaging with your creativity is like the life cycle of a moth or a butterfly. You’re in constant transformation, driven by forces you don’t quite understand. And sometimes it gets vulnerable and intimate... but still you’re compelled to continue.

It’s also quite simply because of the moment when you pull the impression off the block and you get this amazing mirror effect unfurling, like exquisite wings opening before your eyes.

I chose the buckeye moth for this woodcut because of those wise eye markings on their wings.

It's like they know something you don't know yet.

Like they have a secret that they can't tell you, but that you need to trust will work out exactly the way it's supposed to.
